Weekend at Sun Valley Resort

If you read my post last Friday you saw that I spent the weekend in Sun Valley, Idaho. This is my third year to visit the Sun Valley Resort for a board retreat and I am not complaining. Sun Valley is a beautiful resort tucked away in the Rocky Mountains in Sun Valley which is located just about two and half hours southeast of Boise. The weather was chilly and mostly rainy and snowy but we did get a few sunny breaks. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a 'celebrity suite' and I stayed in Averell Harriman suite which Mr. Harriman founded the resort in 1935! My suite had two living rooms, three balconies, a fireplace, bedroom, huge bathroom and a kitchenette. All three balconies had beautiful views of the mountains and the resort ice rink.  It was really amazing and I was definitely wishing I had Kyle there with me. The nightly fires were perfect as the temperatures were in the low thirties but it was a shame I was experiencing it alone!

I didn't take hardly any pictures, blogger fail, but I'll share the few I did take. If you ever get a chance to visit Sun Valley, Idaho you must go!

On Sunday we drove back to Boise to stay before catching our flight early Monday morning. I asked Karli from September Farm for restaurant recommendations because she has not failed me in the past! Once again she suggest 13th Street Grill and it was delicious! If you are in Boise and looking for a great restaurant, 13th Street is not a let down.

Life Lately

Hello y'all, believe it or not I am alive just haven't been around this little space of mine. I could give a million reasons why I haven't posted but in short I'm just not motivated. I haven't felt like sharing, being creative or even like I've had enough energy to login. BUT I miss this space and I miss y'all so I'm working on being back more!

Here is a little of what has been going on in my world lately...lots of travel for sure. But lots of great times as well as some down times. Right after my last post, mid-July, I went to Sun Valley, Idaho. I stayed at the Sun Valley resort for the weekend and had an amazing time. Spent some time shopping and just relaxing at the resort. Unfortunately I backed up my phone recently and cleaned out all of my pictures without thinking I haven't shared any on here. So, I was treated to a wonderful dinner and a ticket to see an Olympic style ice skating show at the resort one evening but I sadly don't have any of those pictures to post. Here are a few of the trip.

The very next weekend I was back on another plane to Park City, Utah. I was fortunate enough to stay at the Montage at Deer Valley resort. It was hands down the best experience I've had at a resort in a long time. I didn't want to leave. I was treated as VIP or a celebrity the entire time and not to mention the views were very spectacular. I will share more on this stay soon. I was there for a board retreat but had a little down time to hike. After reading that the hike to Blood Lake from Dashing Darling was a great hike I had to go. I spent a couple hours hiking to the lake and just relaxing while I took in all the views. How awesome is our God to create such a beautiful world. Here is a few snaps from my trip to Park City.

Last weekend I spent part of the weekend in Oklahoma City for work and part of it celebrating, late, my sister-in-law's birthday. Since I clearly don't have my life together I didn't take any pictures of this.

I recently received a new necklace from Trust Without Borders and I love it! "She knew she could be brave because she was his." Inspired from Isaiah 43:5. Y'all check them out on Instagram if you get a chance. I posted about them here too but I love their purpose. For every purchase made they donate a necklace to a cancer patient. How awesome is that?!

Lastly, my new favorite addiction...fresh mint raspberry lemonade. I'm growing keeping fresh mint alive sort of on my patio and its been great to add to any and everything. Throw in a few leafs into your lemonade and you'll thank me.

I hope y'all are surviving the rest of summer...if you are in scorching temperatures like me here in Oklahoma. Dare do I even say I'm almost ready for fall?

Traveling Across Idaho

Helllloooo Monday, yay! Yay for another Monday after another weekend of working. Yay. Ah ok, rant over. So, on Thursday I traveled to Idaho for work and flew back home yesterday afternoon. I always dread my trips to Idaho because it is so hard to just get there from Oklahoma. Thursday I had to be at the airport at 3:45 AM and after 12 hours of travel and three flight legs later I made it to Boise. THEN we had a two hour drive to Twin Falls, Idaho where I spent the next two days working and doing a little sightseeing. I'm not going to lie, I thought Twin Falls was going to be a little blah looking with a couple of waterfalls. It didn't disappoint on the view we had. Friday afternoon we had lunch at Elevation 486 after Karli from September Farm recommended it. We sat on the patio that overlooked Magic Valley and the Snake River, it was pretty amazing. The view was spectacular and the food was great too, I recommend it as well if you are the Falls area.

Saturday evening we headed back to Boise so we could catch our flight home early Sunday morning. My boss and I were looking for a new place to have dinner and were recommended 10 Barrel Brewing Co. in downtown Boise. As we are sitting there waiting for a table I glanced up and saw a dad chasing his little girl around and thought oh they look familiar. SMALL world, they looked familiar cause it was Karli's "Farmer" and daughter from September Farm {same girl who had just given me a recommendation for Twin Falls} I recognized her and went over to introduce myself. I couldn't believe it, being from Oklahoma and she's from outside of Boise that I would randomly just run into a fellow blogger in a town of 215,000+. It is so fun to meet people when read about their lives forever then its like they're real! It was great meeting you Karli! And because I am a terrible blogger I didn't even think about getting a picture together, blogging fail. OH and 10 Barrel Brewing was fabulous! It would've been much better if I wasn't dieting but it was still so yummy!

Last night as soon as my flight got in I met Kyle at church and afterwards I was starving! I mentioned picking up dinner when he told me he had dinner prepped and ready to be grilled. After 12 hours of traveling I was one happy and thankful wife! While he grilled dinner I relaxed in my hammock, we ate on the patio and then finished the evening with a bike ride together.

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! I'm definitely looking forward to Friday already and having a weekend off plus Monday, yay!
