Red, White & BOOM

I was off work all last week so going back to work today was extra hard but my nice relaxing week with the holiday thrown in there makes it worth it!

We started celebrating the Fourth by watching fireworks on the train tracks in Small Town USA on Thursday evening.

A tiny town just down a few miles away from our house always puts on a great show the day before the fourth and it is always worth attending. We load up friends, the ice chest and put the tailgate down and enjoy our freedom in the USA!

After fifty attempts, this was the best I could do.

Friday morning I made some yummy treats to take to my in-laws that evening before hitting the pool. Tomorrow I plan on posting all the red, white and blue goodies I made this week along with a couple of fails.
After seeing this giant inflatable swan on Little Baby Garvin's page, I HAD to have it. So, last week I went on a mission to find it and now meet Swoony the Swanny...she is HUGE and I love her!

So large that she had to take a swan taxi cause she wouldn't fit in my car.

And little Brecken did not love her as much as I did, or maybe he was just tired ;)

We spent the day with lots of family, cooking out, enjoying homemade ice cream and lots of other yummy desserts and lots of time in the pool. And it was all so relaxing!

You're never too old for sparklers, right? I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating our freedom and independence in this amazing country we call home.

  1. That swan float is amazing!! Also, your fireworks watching on the train tracks reminds me of that Jason Aldean song "Night Train!"
