Life as of Lately...

I don't even know how to start explaining how busy and ridiculously crazy my life has been this past month. Most days lately it is midnight and I'm crawling into bed and if I didn't die from not breathing I would wonder if I even had time to breathe that day. Many things that make my heart swell and put my mind at ease have been left along the wayside these past three weeks specially. Things like working out, blogging, cooking and time with friends and family.
I do realize that most are busy but dang it I need about thirty five hours in the gym and three hours in the kitchen. Then just maybe my heart will start pattering again.

Anyways, I promise I'm still here and many have asked if I'm gone forever and NO I'm still around! Just give me one more week then I have some breathing time off work and will find my happy place again. In the mean time, here is a little of what has been going on in my life. Besides working lots of hours and many weekends traveling for work.

A couple weekends ago my husband wanted to go fishing, again, so he compromised and said he would do something I wanted to do before he went. Little did he know I'd say hiking! hehehe He survived, being a man that does not workout, ever. It was fun!

My room view in New Orleans a couple weeks ago did not suck...

While I was gone to New Orleans one of my best friends, Megan had her third precious baby boy. Meet Beckham Anderson. He is seriously so precious...I might be biased but I don't think so...

I couldn't get home and off that plane fast enough to go meet this bundle of perfectness. Megan makes the perfect babies!

I was also home just in time for my dad to be my date to the OU/Tennessee game two weekends ago. I love going to the games with him. He loves every second of gamedays in Norman and that makes it even more fun for me! It was a great game with an Oklahoma win!!

PS, I am loving my new Marley Lilly clutch! I've wanted one so long and it arrived just hours after the season opener game so I was thrilled to have it for this game. I know, the struggle haha

Stripe the stadium looked awesome.

I love, love, love this picture of my dad and I. Such a great picture of him!

Last week I got to spend a few hours one evening with a couple friends on the river. It was so much fun and I can't wait to get in a few more evenings on the trails before winter hits Oklahoma.

Yesterday I got back from a work trip in Boise, Idaho. Where I ate at The Fork, my favorite restaurant in Boise, shopped at Trader Joe's and H&M because Oklahoma doesn't have either and worked. Oh, and got us out of a parking ticket in downtown. She forgave me for the expired meter but gave me a lecture on jaywalking after I ran across the street to stop her, just in time!

And now after working over time today, yes on a Monday and yes after working all weekend, I am having a delicious raspberry cocktail! Hey, no judging I work straight until next Monday too and leave for Utah Friday. AHHHH pray for my sanity!

This took me sitting down three different times to write this but hey, I posted! One week from today I slow down a little at work and I think my mind and body (I haven't worked out more than once a week this whole month) will be ever so thankful! Have a great week everyone! Sorry for the grainy iPhone pics and for the whiny post.

What I'm Wearing

Instead of posting a Friday favorites today I decided I would do something different. To end, possibly, the hot summer weather in Oklahoma for the year I wanted to show you guys what I've been wearing.

Monday: Work Outfit

Yellow Tank- H&M // Black skinny slacks- Forever 21 // Gold sandals- Target

Tuesday:

Both shorts & tank - Forever 21

On my most weeks I work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays just to save gas. I have a 40 minute commute to work so it's kind of nice to be able to do this. These days I typically cram in a small workout in the morning, throw something casual on for the afternoon then switch to gym clothes and go get in a good workout. So, casual Tuesdays and Fridays.

Wednesday:

Black peplum - Express // White lace skirt- Forever 21 // Black heels - Nine West

On Wednesday I had lunch meeting with several pharmaceutical sales reps. I typically curl my hair after running a straightener through it. This day I did not and I HATED it. Blah

Thursday:

Black halter ruffled dress - Express // Black heels - Nine West

Another meeting and another day. This dress has been a staple in my summer wardrobe the past couple years. Ever buy something that just ends up being a really good purchase? This dress is definitely one of those for me, still love it!

Friday:

Grey tank top maxi dress - Ross // Black tribal neon sandals - Target

Another casual Friday afternoon outfit. I wish you could see these sandals better cause I scored them at the end of Summer last year at Target for ten dollars. They are so cute and comfortable! The dress was originally purchased for my trip to Haiti. It was eight dollars and is the only one that I ended up keeping after the trip, so comfortable as well. PS, this is more what I prefer my hair to look like curled.

Saturday:

Red Sundress - Forever 21 // Brown Cowgirl Boots - Shepplers

Gameday always calls for a dress and boots, especially the first one of the season! Go Sooners!

Sunday:

Black Maxi Dress - Forever 21 // Teal Tribal Necklace - GroopDealz

I love this dress, its so simple but also can really be dressed up. I bought it after I pinned on Pinterest "Ten ways to wear a plain cotton black maxi dress" So far this is the only way I've worn it this summer haha Sorry for the awkward selfie, after twenty seven tries of using the self-timer I gave up.

It is safe to say I live in dresses during the summer. I am a little sad to give them up for cooler temperatures but I'm not going to try and hide it, I am SO ready for fall! Ready for leggings, boots, scarves and well just everything that comes with the season. I've pinned about three hundred fall outfits on Pinterest lately, as most girls have, and I'm pretty excited to start trying them out.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Late Recap on My Weekend

I know I am a little late with my recap of the weekend but with being off Monday it just has thrown my week off. I had a lot of fun on my long weekend so I wanted to still share. I spent a lot of time with family which is always so nice.

Friday evening I still hadn't purchased the perfect gameday dress so my little sister and I did a little shopping. We took advantage of several early Labor Day sales and I picked up a few new fall items. A few more than I had planned on it but I definitely couldn't pass them up. A couple new pairs of jeans for less than the price of one at American Eagle and several new fall tops and my favorite of all this tulle dress. I meas, seriously! I've been wanting one for awhile but couldn't find one that didn't make my butt stick out fifty times more than it already does but this one I couldn't pass up. I felt so girly.

Saturday morning my husband and I left for Norman, home of the Oklahoma Sooners, for the season opener. We live about two hours away and wanted to get there in plenty of time to enjoy the gameday festivities. We met one of my best friends, Melissa, in downtown OKC for lunch then headed onto Norman.

As I mentioned a few times last week in my posts I am a huge OU fan and football is definitely my favorite time of the year so to say I was anticipating the first gameday of the season was an understatement, I was in crimson heaven! We arrived on campus a couple hours before heading into the stadium and enjoyed campus corner. Which is full of drink vendors, radio shows, shopping, food and fun!

The game was great, hot but great! We won and the guys looked great. I'm trying not to jinks us but I think this is going to a really great season, BOOMER SOONER!

Sunday was a very nice relaxing day. Kyle had to run an early morning errand so I slept in which was much needed after a late night getting home from the game. And by sleeping in I mean like 9:00 cause apparently my body is getting old. Hmph! I then spent the afternoon with my parents enjoy their pool. Lots of great quality time and laughs were had. After a couple errands and going to the evening service at church we just rested.

Monday, praise the good Lord for a day off work! My little sister and I crashed my parents pool again after I unsuccessfully attempted to help her with a bit of her homework...umm I graduated college several years ago I am definitely out of practice. That evening my nephew Trey is starting quarterback for the 9th grade team and it was his first game of the season. My entire family, minus my husband, went to show our support. We are really excited for this season, Go Jenks!!

All in all it was such a great weekend! I for sure lived it up since this that was the last weekend I have free of work for this entire month. Come on October! Just kidding...I'm not wishing away fall that fast!
